ii. Clinical Notes for the FRCA.
The second edition of collection of notes on clinical aspects of the examination for the FRCA includes additional sections on trauma management, major incident management, systemic inflammatory response syndrome, opioids, and renal replacement therapy. Guidelines and reports, such as those of the Association of Anaesthetists, are included in a useful section at the end of the book. It's small size makes it ideal for carrying around and dipping into for reference.

iii. Companion to Clinical Anaesthesia Exams.
An updated edition of a revision book for trainee anaesthetists preparing for clinical examinations in anaesthesia. Answer plans allow candidates to structure their knowledge and memorise the key issues. Practical clinical section gives guidance in how to avoid pitfalls in the interpretation of ECGs, X rays etc. Viva questions are grouped into practice exams to allow realistic exam preparation. It is illustrated with simple line diagrams which can be reproduced in the exam. The text should be useful for candidates preparing for the viva, short answer and OSCE sections of the FRCA, being revised to take account of the replacement of essay questions in the FRCA with short answer questions. Updates include the laryngeal mask, total intravenous anaesthesia, target controlled infusions and lasers in surgery. This is a very popular book and stocks are often low.

iv. Clinical Data Interpretation in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care (FRCA Study Guides)
OSCEs are one of the easiest section to pass, in the FRCA exams. But on the other hand this is the section where many of the candidates fail easily. This book is an excellent guide to pass the OSCE section by refining your techinque. It is not the lack of knowledge which leads to the failure but lack of practise and understanding. One of the authors of this book is the deputy chairman of the OSCE committe. One cannot find a better person to provide information regarding this matter.
